Autumn Equinox Ritual

We held our Autumn Equinox ritual on Sunday, 18 September 2022, at Sandy Bottom Park in Hampton, VA. There were only 3 of us but ritual was great!! 

Our next ritual will be the October Druid Moon ritual on 2 October at 4:30 at Sandy Bottom Park, Hampton, VA.

DECLARATION CONCERNING CHOICE

All,

As a group that understands the importance of sovereignty for the well-being of a people, we stand behind each person’s right to be the ruler of their own body. That our bodies are sacred, and there is a limit to the power a government, or anyone else, has over our bodies. Our traditions are full of strong and independent deities that demonstrate this to us. 

Many of the choices we make with our own bodies are complicated, some are painful, but all are personal. We understand how easy it would be, once we hand over a part of our body autonomy, for more to be taken from us. 

No matter where we may stand on each individual choice that can be made for someone’s body, we will stand for the freedom of that person to make the choice themselves. No part of someone’s body should be ruled by someone else.

We call to the deities of Sovereignty,

You who stand for one’s choice,

Grant us the Courage, 

To hold Sovereignty over our own bodies.

Give us the Strength to choose,

To stand up for those who cannot,

And grant those in power,

The Wisdom to understand.

Consent Workshop

Respectful Behaviours & An Introduction to Consent Culture is now available to all members of ADF!

The first of three presentations on the subject, the purpose of this initial presentation is to provide accessible information to all members, who desire to increase their knowledge and skills for building a culture of consent within our church.

Through this presentation, it is our hope that members will gain increased awareness and feel empowered to promote a more respectful, consent-based culture in ADF.  Members viewing this presentation will have an opportunity to increase their understanding of positions of influence, learn to model behaviours they want others to exhibit, become advocates for positive change and gain an understanding of accountability and mutual responsibility.

Three Branch River Grove has a (very small) Library!

 I am very pleased to announce the creation of Three Branch River Grove, ADF's  Lending Library!

Thanks to a very generous donor who was divesting themselves of books they no longer needed and donations from my personal library, we now have the beginnings of a study library for our Grove members. Most of the books are directly related to the Dedicant Path studies, IndoEuropean studies, and Norse/Heathen studies. We have a few books on pagan parenting, picture books, and books of Greek and Norse mythology for children. We have books on consent culture, leadership training, and ritual facilitation. 

I intend to make books from my personal library available soon as well.

In order to borrow from the library, one needs to be a member of the grove, request a library patron ID and password from me.
